* Hog Tao background.
The valley spirit never dies.
It is the woman, primal mother.
Earth Mother cannot die.
Not with Oprah’s cable channel sucking wind.
Heaven and earth last forever.
The sage stays behind, thus he is ahead.
He tests the waters.
For a possible run in 2012.
Under heaven, all things are possible.
Well, maybe not all things.
The highest good is like water.
Water gives life to the 10,000 things.
It does not strive.
It flows in places men reject.
And so it is like Hog Tao.
Better stop short than fill to the brim.
Because if you spill the beer.
Sage or no, they will kick your butt.
Oversharpen the blade, and the edge will soon blunt.
Claim wealth and titles and disaster will follow.
The Hog Tao is not kidding.
The sage sighs.
Attending fully and becoming supple.
Can you play the role of woman?
Understanding and being open to all things?
If so, you are a girly man.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Thirty spokes share the wheel’s hub.
It is the center hole that makes it useful.
Shape clay into a vessel.
It is the space within that makes it useful.
Speaking of space.
We are tempted to make another Snooki joke.
But self discipline is the mark of the master.
Oh what the heck.
The five colors blind the eye.
The five tones deafen the ear.
That explains Ray Charles.
Accept misfortune as the human condition.
What do you mean, “accept misfortune as the human condition?”
Misfortune comes from having a body.
No body, no misfortune.
Which reminds us of a song.
Sometimes the Hog Tao amuses himself.
But nobody knows.
Sing it Satchmo.
*Before anyone blows a Taoist sprocket, please note: I intensely studied the Tao Te Ching as part of my martial arts training in university. It is transcendent. Twice over. But this is a humor blog. So being all serious wouldn’t be the way of Hog Tao.
